Artist Statement

The main purpose of a portrait, in my view, is to capture the likeness and overall quality of a sitter. I prefer the sittings to be easy and relaxed, so that the final portrait can appear natural and unforced. I do not "flatter" my sitters, but I do try to show them at their best.
